Oriel Resources plc ('Oriel', or the 'Company') (AIM:ORI, TSX:ORL) announces
that on 12 May 2006 it received a notification given in accordance with s.198
of the Companies Act by Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited ('CSSEL'),
that on 10 May 2006, following acquisitions, CSSEL held an interest in 6,266,116
shares, being equivalent to approximately 3.09% of the issued share capital of
the Company.

Those Credit Suisse companies which are direct or indirect holding companies of
CSSEL are, under the terms of section 203 of the Act, each interested by
attribution in any shares in which CSSEL is interested.
