Oriel Resources plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas (Nick) Royston Clarke (53) as Managing Director of the Company, effective immediately. Nick has been a Director and COO of the Company since June 2004. He has been instrumental in the completion of the Preliminary Assessment Study and the progress of the Definitive Feasibility Study on the Company’s Shevchenko nickel project. More recently he has driven the development of the Company’s Voskhod chrome project to the point where a decision has now been taken to commence mine development simultaneously with the completion of the DFS for this project.

Nick Clarke takes over as Managing Director from Dr Nic Barcza who is continuing as Director of Technology and who will continue his focus on the technical aspects of the metallurgical processes related to the nickel and chrome projects.

Prior to joining Oriel in June 2004, Nick was previously Managing Director of CSMA Consultants Limited (now Wardell Armstrong International Limited). Nick is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ mining experience. In previous roles, he spent 16 years in production management in the mining industries of South Africa, Ghana and Saudi Arabia where he held senior management positions in production and technical service departments, and has worked on a number of world-class mines. Nick Clarke joined CSMA Consultants Limited in 1993 where he went onto become Managing Director. During this time he built CSMA Consultants Limited into an internationally recognised minerals consultancy serving clients in the mining and financial services sectors.
